Tema Obama do something stupid make a light joke and move on, team Romney say something stupid run it as the headlines for a week. Luck has nothing to do with it.
Both ran stories on the White Houses changing Benghazi narrative. Not on page A53 either: The Times story was page one. This could yet be Obamas October Surprise. Romney caught flak for rushing a political response, but the GENEROUS explanation for the White House blaming the attack on the anti-Muslim film is they knew no better. The less charitable more suspicious view is they knew otherwise but misled the public and Congress to conceal they missed signs of a terrorist attack.
