The same hidden camera that caught him dismissing 47% of voters as Obama voters beneath his consideration also caught him saying that (see link.)
Then, of course, there is the spectacle of Romney guaranteeing his opponent at least 47% of the vote (whatever his explanation.)
EDIT: Actually the full video is worse in terms of candid Romney realism: He began by conceding Obama "49, 48%" of voters before downgrading it to 47%, perhaps realizing that he was telling potential donors his opponent will win a majority no matter HOW much they spend.
That may be the saddest thing about this whole campaign: Even after the SCOTUS Citizens United ruling declared open season for unlimited PAC spending of anonymous donor money, Republicans are facing an election against an unpopular president in a recession and Democrats forced to defend 22 Senate seats to the GOPs 10 yet, despite outspending Dems 3:1, they are STILL LOSING. I would feel bad for them if it were not so "richly" deserved.
