this isn't the problem - the problem is distribution. if you could send all the wasted food from the usa to africa, who would starve? how do we get more food to starving people is the question. there is enough food. the reason people are starving is due to poverty and lack of access to resources, not crop yield.
And how do you send perishable food from areas with a surplus thousands of miles to areas with a deficit without wasting billions of pounds a year and massive amounts of fossil fuels? Would it not be more sensible to increase crop yields in areas where there is a food deficit?
