I thought he was funny if a little weird. I thought it was an interesting break from the same old political speeches we normally see. When he first started talking to the chair I thought he had completely lost his train of thought and we were fixing to see the melt down of an icon but then I realized what he was doing and I loved it. It was a bit red meat so if you don't like jokes at the expense of Obama it may not seem as funny but he had the audience laughing at all the right points. The only part that made me cringe is when he started talking about Afghanistan, it wasn’t funny and hitting Obama for supporting a war Bush began and Romney supported as well really didn’t make much sense.
I think the media is wrong about it distracting from the flow since Rubio came out afterwards and gave a great introduction speech to get the mood back to a more serious note. I have seen the media talking about how it was a distraction since they want to talk about over and over again. I have never understood why the media blames the candidates for the medias fascination with the trivial, the media are controls the conversation if they are talking about stupid things then they need to be held accountable for that. Anyways they were going to find something to be distracted by no matter what and talking about Clint Eastwood is better than what they had with Rubio and none stop fact checking talk. The idea that it somehow spoiled the night is just silly it was funny and made the whole thing seem a little less scripted and fake.

I'm contemplating voting for that empty chair. *NM*

I wouldn't mind hearing what a normal person thought of his speech.

I doubt anyone would criticize his speech had expectations not been so high.

Having watched the first 5 minutes or so of Eastwood's speech I'm not sure what to make of it
