Don't be an idiot; you're forgetting that I know it doesn't fit you.
Yes. We are definitely in danger of all of that. That is exactly what I want. And said. Or not. Asking for some rules is not asking to ban something. We have rules regulating free speech too, depending on who is talking, where they are and the validity of what is being said. Get a grip.
Did I say that there should be no guns? Because I must have forgotten that already. I also did not say that I didn't ever want them in proximity to me. I lived with 10-15 guns in the house until I moved from my parents. What I do ask for (and feel absolutely none of this weird guilt load you so obviously think I should) is that we be as reasonably sure as we can be that we're training and licensing people to know what they are purchasing and how to respect it. I DETEST the car analogy, because it is one of those comments that is thrown in the all the time, but if we know something can be deadly it makes no sense not to ask people for a level of proof that they can be responsible.
Well, gosh, I don't know what I'll do without your regard. Particularly because it looks like you read someone else's post. Guess I'll go off and eat worms.
You can denigrate and defame the constitution all you wish, but it's the only reason your opinion counts for anything. We could strip away your civil liberties and make you only able to speak with a man's permission, since you are so keen on stripping away the civil liberties of others. Or, you know, not.

Policy questions, particularly those pertaining to civil liberties should NEVER be based on emotional criteria, like something making you "uncomfortable." Your tastes and preferences should not come into it, because who the hell made you god? Other people, your moral and legal equals, disagree with your position, so which of you is right?

Morally, I'd prefer the anti-gun-law types, who are not attempting to infringe on others' behavior. You are basically in favor of outlawing something, because YOU don't have in interest in that area of activity, and find it distasteful. Those who oppose gun restrictions are not trying to make any people or citizen conform to their personal preferences, they are not making people embrace an action or activity that is distasteful. They are simply asking for their legal rights and opposed to infringements on the same. You and your ilk want to impose on them, but they are not attempting to impose anything on you. By all standards of decency, that give them the moral high ground.

Do you have strong feelings/opinions about gun control?
