I, too, am curious about Northern Ireland - guess the inter-religious tension and violence there over the past centuries has kept religion from losing influence as fast as it has elsewhere in the country, so I can see how the opposition of the churches would weigh heavier there.
In the meantime we'll just have to hope that the reactionary drive of Gallardon and his cronies in Spain will be spent by the time they get to trying to turn back the clock on gay marriage...
