i must say i was annoyed at the barrage of chat notifications that popped up. seriously why?

Honestly, you would have to ask the person who set up the FB group, which was not me. I am just taking the heat for trying to let any RAFOlk otherwise unaware of the FB group know it exists so they can participate IF they want. Geez, you people sound like the Republicans talking about "Obama is making everyone get health insurance111" There is not even a tax penalty for non-participation here; anyone who wants to leave the FB group is free and welcome to do so. I can see the point of people who do not want to be dragged in unnotified, true; I guess folks should have just messaged their wotmaniac contacts (sorry.)

Some would also note that FB, unlike RAFO, has a chat. Incidentally, if the latter is bothersome, one can disable it or turn off its sound effects.


Mike Mackert could have posted this and pretty much the same comments by myself and others would have been made.

Well, despite having suggested it to him, I admit to reservations about Mike visiting RAFO. wotmaniac kumbaya-choruses are far less frequent than even five years ago, let alone in tales I have heard of the glory days. I like ya'll, but wotmaniac camaraderie is not what it once was, which does not encourage anyone to visit or post. In a years time, with AMoL old news, RAFOs BMB may need YOU to take it in over at The OF Blog (whether they will ask I cannot say; again, wotmaniac camaraderie is not what it once was. ;))


I don't think the OF Blog would be a suitable locale, considering that I've largely stopped covering anything related to fantasy/SF. ;)
