I respect X-Men if the story of its origin is true, but the concept may be a bit worn after half a century (or maybe it should just be exported across the Atlantic. )

On the other hand, there was very little of the eighty year old "truth, justice and the American Way" in the last Superman movie. I could easily see THAT Superman intentionally killing, though I quite enjoyed it anyway, particularly the painstaking efforts to maintain continuity with the earlier films (which DID preserve his goody-two-shoes nature, the first even making it a significant plot hook.) Supermans ethos does not lend itself to the anti-hero comic renaissance ushered in by the Dark Knight, the Watchmen and the Punisher. In a lot of ways, that is the culmination of all the people who used to echo his foes sneers that he is "the Big Blue Boy Scout."

Sorry for the tangent; my way of saying I also do not do comic books, with a few notable exceptions, much as I am apathetic toward sports apart from football.
