so much so, that ken blackwell requested immunity from having to testify about his role as secretary of state for that election. that makes two presidential elections in a row (2004 and 2008 ) in which ohio had problems with the voting process. one was run by an R and the other by a D. now tell us again how the R's are infallible at running elections?

I believe Blackwell claimed Sovereign Immunity, as SecState, that's a good deal different then the way you make it sound, like he got immunity in exchange for damning testimony. Maybe he did as you say but I've never heard of it, and Sovereign Immunity is an entirely different animal, dealing with whether or not a government can be sued without its consent.

and my memory is not the best these days. i was also pretty close to the recall effort because i was working with the greens at that time and we had our own opinions of blackwell that were different than what was reported in the media :|

I wasn't around for 2004 or 2006, so most of the Taft-Blackwell-etc stuff I know about from digging from hearing this or that acquaintance talking about in the run up to 2010. I haven't really kept up on what the greens have been up to, it's not a strong party in Ohio of late, but Blackwell's not exactly a GOP darling these days.
