It's about how Romney doesn't scare/disgust/irritate the shit out of moderates and left leaning voters the way candidates such as Santorum, Gingrich, Bachman, Perry and such do. Romney is the only Republican candidate that wouldn't force Democrats to collectively say "Holy Fuck, we can NOT let that person be President."
what i mean by credibility is the same phenomenon we saw in 2004 when kerry's voting record basically mirrored everything bush threw down the pike, and which a lot of voters were fed up with, but yet kerry tried to run as though he didn't support any of that stuff. here we have a struggling economy and a prolonged recession, and the republicans can only find some rich fat cat who has offshore holdings who continually finds himself backtracking on comments because he can't connect with the common voter to save his life.
throw in RomneyCare and now we have someone who is against one of the things that once was held as a shining example of his time as governor. add in the op-ed piece about how detroit should be made to go bankrupt and his continued insistence that the bailout didn't save any jobs and we have someone who can't face the reality that not only were over 1 million jobs saved, but the auto industries have paid back most of that bailout at this point. there are plenty of things that romney has said and done just in recent memory that can be used very effectively in a campaign. and now that obama has embraced the superPAC, it will be much easier for him to remain president, imho.
