Re: Really not as unavoidable as you'd think, I would be inclined to say after that reply.

My google-fishing had rather traumatic results, disinclining me search more.
I'm more baffled that someone as sensible as you would think that entering "(name of country) cartoon" into Google, in English, would yield any intelligent results.
I did see a reference to the smurfs but as mentioned, my mind kinda got stuck on the disturbing video. It's tongue and cheek, no offense was intended. To the contrary I decided to try scanning around for some non-American or Japanese shows of note, and I started with Belgian for obvious reasons, and that's what I got, which was not meant as a slight merely a headbanging moment of realization about how futile the task would likely be. German cartoons for instance either brings up German translations of American cartoons or caricatures of German culture, beer stein and lederhosen. "American Cartoons" brings up almost all political satire cartoons and the same applies, it's not wiki-easy to pull up some long list of popular TV or comics and their nation of origin to scan through for ones I know enough to ask a question about, yes smurfs would have been a good one but unlike Japanese anime about the only way to tell it's not American without really deep inspection is if it's still in some other language and then I don't know it enough to ask about. That's just how it is, I'm not really willing to devote hours to finding out what might qualify on all accounts and there is no ready resource that would aid on that. As to any other offense, accident of poor joke I suppose, the video was a brain bleach moment, I apologize.
I'm not offended by the video, it's some parody in poor taste, from a show that I've heard of but never seen (and have little desire to, now), one of those things that are bound to get spread on the internet to elicit "WTF" reactions and to reflect badly on whichever country it happens to be from. It happens. Obviously I and my countrymen would prefer not to be associated with that video in much the same way that Americans would prefer not to be associated with the Saw franchise, or the Phelps family, or many other things, and the Germans would prefer not to be associated with Armin Meiwes; tough luck for all of us, I suppose.
What irritated me is that you apparently chose to interpret my posts as a request to put more Belgian stuff into your quizzes, which would've been such a stupid reaction that I'm offended you would think that, then used such a hare-brained method to locate said Belgian stuff - this kind of thing is why they created Wikipedia, you know, with its obsession for categorizing everything - and proceeded to conclude your premise about everything well-known being American must be right.
