Since that is the only real country, and quite excellent, no, just the opposite. Joel Send a noteboard - 07/02/2012 08:07:08 PM
I don't mean that 'pop'pycock crap that passes for it today, but the real shit. I was listening to Jimmy Wakely and some other 'singing cowboys' today, it's really such enjoyable music. The one linked below (Oklahoma Hills from 1949) has some quite attractive instrumental solos in it to go along with the song. So nice! :| Some of the other ones have small choruses of sorts doing wordless humming and oohing ...

The fact that its organic is so nice too, real voices and instruments, an actual band or even mini-orchestra in some of the videos. Not like the pop music today which uses synths and patches for everything. I really hate this era's pop music. :[ ><img class=' /> The only 'pop' on my computer is Over the Rainbow with Judy Garland singing. That counts as pop in 1939 at least don't it?

What Tim and MGB said. One of the ways you can tell country music fans from idiots is whether they think June Carter was just "Johnny Cashs wife" or he was just her husband. I like some of the early Honky Tonk country (e.g. Hank Thompson,) but the really great country is the pure folk music that produced the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers. Some time when I am not about to collapse we will have to discuss this more; you finally got to a genre of music on which I can comment. :P

Oh, and LMFAO you did not go with the Bob Wills version of that song (my dad despised Bob Wills and his over the top performances. ;))
