Bad comparison Isaac Send a noteboard - 05/02/2012 03:36:12 PM
But really it could be cheese. However, since we can't detect it being cheese, I would not place any bets on it. It's only slightly more probable than some all-mighty being creating the universe.

That's not really very good logic you know, I'm pretty sure Matrioshka brain is considerably more probable to be made then a cheese world, and I daresay the relative probabilities of either naturally occurring are about the same, at least of the same physical size, probably favoring the world-computer. Seems to me that since most of the time someone either brings up a Jupiter-brain is to discuss simulated universes, Tech Singularities or God-Machines that in this context the idea that some all-mighty being created the universe should be considered vastly more probable than a green cheese world. Especially since barring absurdly tiny freak probabilities of natural occurrence there's way, way more reason to build a Matrioshka brain then Cheese Luna. I don't know about you but I'd have no particular issue considering some world-computer running my entire reality like a virtual pet effectively almighty and godlike and he would obviously have "super"-natural abilities over my natural universe.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
