The bulk of its activities are focused on contraception, STI screening, and cancer screening, and it places a particular emphasis on providing reproductive health care to people who otherwise wouldn't have access.
A lot of that stuff can be pricey- I know quite a few girls who have benefited tremendously just from getting discounted services from there.
For every single murderer in history, that was only a small part of what he did. A man who has lived for four decades goes down in memory for all time as a murderer for a single digit number of homicides. This sort of arrogance on the part of liberals, who, because they have the mainstream media's ear, don't need to pay attention to other people's opinions, is what leads to attacks on abortion clinics and doctors. People who are opposed to abortion do so BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE IT IS MURDER! The fact that the destruction of innocent human life is just ONE of a wide-ranging array of activities and interests is a completely irrelevant criterion for the opponents of Planned Parenthood. Meanwhile, Ron Paul gets slammed for letting his name be associated with some writings of questionable content years ago, but for a liberal organization, heavily involved in a liberal issue, "it's just a small part of what they do." Everyone has to answer for their own actions. Period. The fact that they were founded to sterilize the black race out of existence - oh, no. That's no longer relevant. That they used to advise women to douche with Lysol - why would ANY women's health advocates have a problem with such a group? But religious education still has to contend with the fact that some backwoods, under-educated preachers in the medieval era were associated with the Flat-Earth society of their time. Companies today are still hounded about the fact that they sold computers to the Nazis, but Planned Parenthood goes by the same name under which the KKK praised them, and these sordid details of their history are allowed to die out. They are caught on tape giving practiced, experienced counsel on how to get around the laws against sex trafficking, but anyone who opposes them is "anti-woman." As far as I am concerned, take away those functions of the female anatomy with which PP is so involved in, and you have smaller, weaker, less rational men, who coast along under the protection of a hypocritical racket that lets them pass the consequences of their irresponsible behavior onto the rest of us. "My body, my choice," then pay for your own damn birth control, abortions, child care and educations. Your body, your choice, but the taxpayer picks up the bill. Who can blame a charitable foundation intended to support innocent female victims for backing out on supporting a group that victimizes the rest of society on behalf of irresponsible & selfish women.
