if everybody just quit buying their shit it wouldn't take that long before their factories started closing and their society would be in chaos as now their youth has had a taste of a little prosperity they would quickly turn on their government if it were taken away from them. But, you know how it goes, daddy needs a new electronic toy and mama needs more trinket arts and crafts to decorate her house. So, China keeps rolling and growing.
We've gotten to a point were it's actually pretty hard for the average person to stop buying Chinese stuff. From clothes to (children's) toys to food, unless you're really working at it, you're buying stuff from China. People need to understand the interconnectedness of all of this AND care enough to overcome the added effort and expense of buying more responsibly.
