A better question might be whether I think they are ever right. - Edit 1

1. Do you believe your political party is ALWAYS right?
2. a) If so, why? b) If not, where do you think your political party is/has been wrong?
3. Do you think that partisan politics have become too contentious?

I know what I sound frequently like here, but I'm not overly pleased to sound like I have Democratitis. I'm more conservative than I actually seem, depending on the facet of govt being discussed. So do I claim a party? Not really.
1. I think they can both be right at the same time (by espousing completely different policies), but the mixture of democrat and republican policies clashing together can frequently cause issues. If one administration spends 8 years being heavily capitalistic and then the next comes in pushing regulations, taxes and programs, the flip-flop can be unhealthy, not to mention confusing. Imo, anyway.
2. I am for health care reform, but most anything far left makes me uncomfortable. And I don't like the left typically when it comes to small business. Regulations really can kill a business like mine, so I believe they really need to be careful not to tip over the fine line there. There are other things, but this is long enough already.
3. I would say yes, but I think most of the problem is that extreme statements make good TV. Much of what I've seen are the knee-jerk reactions and message board arguments. When I watch boring TV like CSPAN, I am actually a lot more interested in what they are saying, because it seems to be real people having real discussions, rather than guarding against what they can say for the soundbite.
