I hate how he's constantly billed as the libertarian candidate given his extreme views on social issues. Oh yeah, except for the weed. Big deal- you absolutely cannot be pro liberty if you seek to limit the rights of half the human race. (And that's even before you delve into his issues with people that are not white, not straight, etc). Basically, he could only be a white man's idea of a libertarian.
You do not have to be a woman to be offended when women's rights are threatened. Women are human beings first so women's rights are human rights. Absolutely everyone should be offended by Ron Paul.
Some will say- oh he just wants to leave it to the states!
1. No he does not. He is favor of a personhood amendment.
2. Even if it was true that he would want to leave it to the states, that would also be wrong. Personal liberty cannot be optional. States absolutely should not be able to choose to, say, let private businesses choose not to serve customers that are not of a certain race.

None of the others stand a chance against Obama in the general election.
That number is pretty meaningless. If nearly 60% of republicans find Ron Paul acceptable, then he could be the nominee. Right now he's tied with Romney and Santorum for the lead. Paul's platform has more support than the media would like you to believe. A lot of people are sick of meaningless wars and having the US try (and fail) to solve all of the world's problems while our own continue unchecked. As a college student myself, cutting student loans would have no impact on my support for him. With the tax money I'd save if he could make even a fraction of the cuts he's mentioned, I wouldn't need loans anyway. Really, based on the issues, Ron Paul is the only candidate I want to see as president.
Unfortunately, you're right; it probably won't happen. Instead, Obama will be getting a second term.
I recently saw a survey where over 40% of republicans find him unacceptable, that was twice the number of any other candidate. Sorry but Ron Paul really doesn't have much support outside his loopy base and even most them don't support his platform so much as they support the idea of him. How strong would his support be among college students if he really did cutoff their student loans? I know all the cool kids like him but that won't get you in Oval Office.
