Sound advice. Nate Send a noteboard - 28/12/2011 10:11:19 PM
I like the sound of this 281, as long as I end up having time for it, which I probably will. It sounds like the hill country route would make for more interesting driving than the Lubbock route.

The San Antonio Zoo is on the itinerary. It looks very nice. I'll have a native Texasian with me too, which will help. We also plan on hitting some of the barrier island parks along the Gulf coast, and the aircraft carrier in Corpus Christi, plus the drive out west to the Grand Canyon. Might stop at Carlsbad along the way, depending on time.

I don't have much of a route choice when going west. I plan to go west from San Antonio and then skip north into New Mexico to avoid El Paso. From there up to Albequerque and then west through Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon.
