That's part of the reason I was frustrated with the iPad - there are hassles and expenses that go with it, which I didn't sign up for. By contract, I had asked for a Kindle for my birthday and was very happy with it.
It was after much prompting and research on my part and I doubt that you would have expressed any desire for it on your own. You had to be extra vocal in agreeing and helping me in convincing parents that you truly did agree because they're (just a little bit) traumatized when it comes to getting you presents so they're afraid of taking risks.
