Congratulations on passing it! Vivien Send a noteboard - 14/12/2011 12:18:18 AM
My driving instructor did tell me that my examiner is strict. but I think my mistakes were bad enough that anyone would have failed me. The worst part of failing is the waiting time- generally the waiting time for a road test appointment here is 2 months.

All three times with the same instructor (an old ex-military guy) within 1-2 months time. Really great to be welcomed at the 2nd and 3rd test with a "Wasn't it you who....."

I failed the first time because I was too nervous with having someone besides me who judged everything I did. The second time I was nervous and he was pedantic. At the third time I was so fed up with getting the same instructor again that I got angry and didn't care what he would think about my driving since he obviously would fail me again. So for me, my attitude of "I don't give a sh*t about what he thinks, I'll just drive" helped me to relax so I could drive as good as I had done during my driving lessons.

I learned, later on, that the instructor had, a time after my tests, been reprimanded for being too harsh by failing 70% of the people who took the driving test.

As far as I know, I'm the only one who have had the same instructior twice, not to mention thrice. Lucky me or something.:[
