Yeah, the final question was always meant to lead back to that but I initially planned to do it through Dune-->Picard and realized there was no elegant way to do that which wasn't either blatant or terribly obscure like "Picard once mind-melded with another character major Star Trek character who came from this planet" which he actually did with Spock's dad too IIRC, but mind-meld kinda gives it away. So a tocuh of a astretch through Dune to Bakula's XO
