Or if we are feeling a little flush and are not going to have a lot of guest we do a rib roast. I want to do a lamb but my wife thinks she doesn't like lamb. We have been together 21 years and I have never seen her taste it but for some reason mentioning that just seems to piss her off without winning her over.
I am confused. Do Americans not do cake at Christmas?

My family's Christmas is Second Thansgiving, but with bonus desserts. Mostly pie, cookies, and candy *NM*

Or rather... Fifth Thanksgiving. Thanksgivings 2, 3, and 4 are all about Thanksgiving 1 leftovers. *NM*

We have different icing. It is not typically a very dense, flat sheet of solid icing. Like fondant.

Plus with loads of brandy used to "feed" the cake over the month before you ice it.

There are other birds which it's "acceptable" to eat at Christmas, other than turkey.

Fruitcake, I guess. But we don't coat it with disgusting icing. And it's not really cake. *NM*
