no I realize that - Edit 1

It is equally true that many of the protesters are hard-working people who have been screwed over. It's easy to pigeonhole people, but it is, as you said, not the reality of the situation. Just because you worked hard and are doing well does not mean that everyone who works hard will do well. Many people have worked hard and had their feet knocked out from under them.

I don't really support OWS, but I support it a hell of a lot more than I support the callous "I've got mine" mentality that I've seen popping up so frequently in this thread. Is it really so hard to realize that some people have had different life experiences than we've had?

I'm just saying that her friend is not entirely representative of everyone's situations, which only seems MORE SO the more we hear. The situations I have put forth are not "everyone's" situation, either. I am just pointing out to her that she appears to be trying to encompass the entire issue into her friend's situation. Not that no one is in that situation and they're all in the ones mentioned elsewhere The reality is that it's ALL the situations. But I do believe there are way too many people that are complaining that are NOT in a situation where they've had their feet kicked out from under them...they just never had feet under them to begin with and are complaining that no one is picking them up.
