The Navy, unlike the Marines, was disbanded for a number of years after the Revolutionary War, so which is older depends on how we count the Navys age. By the time I was old enough to attend Annapolis I was no longer getting calls from recruiters (and never had the connections for an appointment regardless) and had kind of lost interest in a military career, but once upon I was quite a student of the USN, and consequently discovered it is a relatively young service branch, all things considered. And you are quite welcome; when raising Hell about the state of our country I am always quite aware of who paid the ultimate price to grant and preserve my freedom to do so.
