Usually the Command that your in will throw a Birthday Ball. All the Marines will get spiffed up in their Dress Blues and we eat and drink, Also we have the cutting of the cake ceramony.
The oldest and the youngest Marine will be chosen, The CO will usually cut the cake with a sword and offer the 1st peice to the eldest Marine, he will take a bite and then he will pass it to the youngest Marine.
Also there is usually some kind of Pagaent where the less ranking Marines will put on uniforms from famous battles that had happend in the past, to honor what we have done and achomplised. Then there will be some speeches and a lot of oorahs and then we break into the kegs. Thats how we celebrate our birthday in a nutshell. Generally its just a good day to reflect on how far we have come and a way to honor our fallen brothers over our 236 years.
