there are a number of people who use to frequent Wotmania chat who would also post or reply to posts. The main reason they went to Wotmania was for chat. You know what, many of those people who mostly went to chat was for the talk, not to pick on any one or pick up anyone. (If ya know what I mean.)
John, Sheila, Dani...Some really awesome folks who may not have posted as much as they chatted but had much to contribute to discussions.
I understand that a chat room might...probablly would be a pain in the ass but...Could we have one? Please?
Also how the hell does one spell probablly correctly?
Also, I DON'T WANNA DO SKYPE!

I must admit, I have never understood the logic that says chat is so indispensable it must be a part of RAFO, but not vital enough to justify the minimal effort required by the plethora of other options, from Skype and Vent to reg'lar ol' AIM or even IRC. The biggest argument I see against RAFO needing chat to bring back people who were always in chat but rarely anywhere else is the absence of those people from alternative chats. Even with wotmaniacas practically begging them to come because online communities, like all others, are not sustainable if, on the rare occasions someone shows up, they always find themselves alone. It still strikes me as something that a dozen or two people nostalgically wish to indulge once every couple of months; implementing a RAFO chat for no more reason that seems like a lot of work for very little return (and the myriad massive headaches that went with wotmania chat.)
Setting aside all that, I would STILL prefer Skype (though I understand and respect that you do not) because Ben is unlikely to implement anything that allows group audio/video or through which my mom could watch my wedding live from across an ocean. So... I dunno, all I can say is, "good luck with that."

Then don't moderate the chatroom.

That last is probably a bad environment in which to create a chat.

I disagree strongly; that segregated power was part of the problem with wotmania chat.
