I stumbled upon a pretty awesome solution recently, and want to share it with you all.
I connected my laptop to the TV using a monitor cable (from an old desktop computer), and ran the sound from the laptop to amp/speakers using a wireless audio transmitter/receiver pair. Unlike with a S video cord, the quality isn't degraded at all, and the sound from the speakers is much better than from the TV, obviously. So now I can watch Hulu, Amazon videos (there's stuff for free with Prime, just watched Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, or you can rent/buy), or Netflix if you have that, without any additional stuff.
Just wanted to share that
Also, I've been using a solid shampoo for the last few weeks (from LUSH), and it's pretty amazing.

I'm surprised that TV companies haven't marketed this more heavily.
