Really interesting article on BBC news about there being an enormous cross-cultural difference in the way people behave when they drink. Apparently the message about alcohol being dangerous and that it can cause violent and/or promiscuous behaviour is just reinforcing this bad behaviour rather than making people more careful when they drink.

I wonder how likely it is that policies will actually change to try and make especially young people stop binge drinking...don't need the article to point out that it's not working so well at the moment.
