Perhaps its a case of living and dying by the sword or perhaps I tend to bring out the hypocrite in people or I suppose its altogether possible I've simply lumped quite a few of you in a category with ideals that hold no sway for you; however, I've generally made a rule for myself to behave in a well mannered fashion with those who who are themselves capable of proper discourse and possessing of some not all together manufactured integrity.
... that you do indeed tend to bring the hypocrite out in people. Everyone has a little hypocrite inside them. Mine doesn't really like you, and I think that's his prerogative. I'm not particularly feeling up for ShitFest 2011, but if you want to go for it I suppose I'll sit and watch.
I can't speak for everyone, but my own personal rules for being nice to people actually and surprisingly sound close to yours even though I feel we employ these rules in very different ways. In short, be nice to people who are nice, but don't feel any need to extend the same courtesy to people who are not nice. Why do you expect people to be nice to you when you aren't nice to others? You seem to feel that they deserve it, and there certainly are people who insult you for your inflammatory opinions before you directly assault them, but I'm having a hard time seeing how it is so in this case. Whether you have something against Mormonism or not (I'm ambivalent and non-religious, ambiviligious you might say), you directly attempted to insult him though he himself had done nothing to you that I am aware of. That's what I was responding to.
Do you feel that it was unfair of me to say what I've said given that in my eyes you are the one who first insulted someone with neither provocation nor justification? If so I would be happy to continue discussing this grievance. If I remember correctly, so far I have said that I feel you should be banned, that I think you are unintentionally hilarious, and that I find your posts to often be mean-spirited, misogynistic, or vainglorious. Oh, and that you are an attention seeker. I'm not sure which of those is particularly out of line, given the circumstances. If you feel that a score somehow needs to be evened between us, I can help you with that. I am sometimes judgmental, I am unreasonably stubborn in my lifestyle choices, I am fairly anti-social and not very good at it when I try to be otherwise, I'm crap at speaking to girls (but a few of them have somehow liked me anyway), I am a good writer but not nearly as good as I used to like to think I was, I probably couldn't take a bear in a fair fight, I'm starting to get balding, I'm only in average physical shape, I had a failed long distance relationship that may have been ill-considered but will never be regretted, I'm an unrepentant Canadian with socialist leanings, I can stink up the bathroom something godawful fierce when I put my mind to it, I sometimes get upset at people in posts and express my feelings only to find myself unwilling to actually fight with a person because fighting actually kind of sucks and I can usually end up seeing their point of view even if they never so much as try to see mine, I write some boring ass shit sometimes, I've only been punched once in my life and it was by a girl, I occasionally fail at objectivity and don't think that's always a bad thing, I'm a picky eater, I have terrible eyesight, I feel unreasonable pride at the tiny amount of popularity I have (or used to have) here even though at the end of the day I don't put much stock in it, I think hockey is cool, I can't belch the alphabet, I don't drink or smoke or really have any sort of vice outside of video games and junk food and that probably makes me boring, I like big butts and I cannot lie, and this one time in Mexico I ... no, nevermind about that one.
