What? It's a national tragedy only when it's convenient? Vivien Send a noteboard - 14/09/2011 05:50:43 PM
Oh the entire country was shaken, horrified, and is mourning 9/11, not to mention the impact it had on foreign policy, but the rescue workers that were quite literally in the thick of it are on their own? Cause hey the rescue workers don't really concern all of America.

Im thinking politicians need to shut the heck up about 9-11 if they dont think its necessary to pay for the medical treatment of the first responders. "never forget" unless you're talking about the pain and suffering and cancer the first responders have thanks to their breathing in of the rubble at Ground Zero. With all the money spent on the ceremonies commemorating this event, a few dozen of the heroes of that day would have gotten treatment for their life threatening illnesses
This is an issue for no one but the city of New York. Why on earth is it the responsibility of any other part of the country to pay for medical bills of people working anywhere but New York, not to mention the highly suspect claims that they contracted their ailments at Ground Zero, or that New York or anyone else is actually responsible for them. There has been far too much government largesse wasted on survivors and next of kin and all these other leeches using their proximity to the event as a winning lottery ticket!
