It was the 10th Anniversary - Edit 1

I'm not thinking it will be as big a deal next year, ya know we had a pretty big deal about the 50th anniversary of pearl harbor and will probably have another big one come 2041, and we have been doing various memorial and celebratory events for a long time for a lot of stuff. 10th is hardly long, "Remember Remember the Fifth of November" comes to mind, what's that been 400 years and change? The Japanese still take Hiroshima and Nagasaki pretty seriously, and they've been good friends for a long time with us, as opposed to still engaged in hostilities.

I don't see why you have an issue with this, I don't like people getting overly-worked up about stuff either but it was kind of a major defining moment in the lives of a lot of people, on par with JFK's assassination or the moon landings or Challenger, we certainly still bring those up on their anniversaries, especially the numerically significant ones. Nobodies making you get involved and frankly it's kinda screwed up you'd object to other people doing it.
