But we never got back to like we were before it happened and I doubt we will ever be like we were before 9-11. WWII taught us that we could not just ignore the rest of the world and hope it got better and 9-11 taught us that small groups of radicals could be a threat to us and that we had to pay attention to people who claimed they wanted to destroy even if they don't have the ability to challenge us on the field of battle. We are not going to unlearn that anytime soon. We lost the luxury of thinking all those crazy people burning our flag and chanting death to America were a joke.
