Im thinking politicians need to shut the heck up about 9-11 if they dont think its necessary to pay for the medical treatment of the first responders. "never forget" unless you're talking about the pain and suffering and cancer the first responders have thanks to their breathing in of the rubble at Ground Zero. With all the money spent on the ceremonies commemorating this event, a few dozen of the heroes of that day would have gotten treatment for their life threatening illnesses

(and if you're not in the states, I'll begin by telling you that if one wasn't careful, one will have heard about basically nothing else for the last month. It is frustrating me, because I don't necessarily want to be desensitized to ... any of it.)

The NSSPart That Gets You to the Point:

God, that was a horrific day, even for a Midwesterner. I cried much more than I would have expected, and you won't be surprised when I say that it was a day that seared everything into my mind. I remember where I was, who told me, what I watched, what class I went to, what I did later that day. How I felt.

The Point:

What I'm getting today is self-centered introspection. Redundant, you say? Eh, well, you'll see why in a second. More than anything, I remember who I was, and am able to compare her to who I am today. Can we say that about other days in our lives? I don't even remember my own graduation day with such clarity.

And maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like a less-than-acceptable topic upon which to brood today. Is it wrong to call it self-centered? At any rate, I guess I can't be blamed for what occurs to me w/o my permission.

What are you thinking today?
