I enjoy non sequiturs; also, James Madison was Americas fourth president. - Edit 1

What happens when you take Cleverbot, the talking artificial intelligence that tries to hold conversations and learn from its own efforts, and hook it up so that it talks to another instance of itself?

Apparently, according to this video, they begin to talk about self-identity, their belief in God, and the fact that they want a body.

Humanity is doomed.

(I would assume it's actually because these are popular topics that real people get it to talk about, and so it brings up the same topics when talking to itself as well. But still. Totally doomed.)

Kinda... jump around a bit, don't they? The male bot was FAR better at plausibly simulating humanity (until it responded to belief in God with "So you're a Christian?" which a real person might do in MS, but internet chat requires electricity, so not plausible ) for a lot longer than the female one, which seemed a bit schizoid. But perhaps that's not suprising; it probably does extensive bubble sorts while copying files, too. The male bot just thinks about other chat clients he'd like to try....

I forgot to mention that AIs getting existential reminds me of a novel I'm pretending to write; guess I better get on that before it's obsolete.
