My guess is because you referenced "the lefts" fuzzy logic in a thread about a LGBT scholarship.

Not even sure how I implied it. I said that liberals tend to pick who needs help based on who they like more than who needs it or what what give the best results for their stated goals. Not sure where I even suggested that LGBT were all liberals. Now I would argue that the average liberal <3 LGBT more than the average conservative but that isn't the same thing.
I thought I was making a fairly clear point but it seems I failed and very few people understood what I was trying to say.

I can't speak for him, of course; I'm just speculating, but based on the experience that partisan terms at the start or in the title encourages viewing a thread as partisan polemic no matter how hard you try to make it non-partisan as a whole. Your question is basically why you saw a story about a LGBT scholarship and immediately considered it an example of "the fuzzy logic of the left"; speculating further about that would only cause trouble without accomplishing anything.

Personally I still favor demographic blind subsidies as the best route to meritocracy.

There are colleges that don't allow homosexuals - or men, or women for that matter.

I would have no problem with a LGBT only school as long as it didn't take state money

The United Church of Christ is a rather liberal denomination - celebrating gay marriages, notably.
