Christie has gone after the teachers unions and they can't tolerate that random thoughts Send a noteboard - 23/08/2011 02:27:34 AM
Teachers unions are one of the biggest sponsors of the democratic party with civil service unions in general being the biggest funding source and organizational tool for the dems. They can't let the unions lose in state like NJ without risking the entire corrupt structure falling down around them.

The dems thought they might have a chance trying to recall Christie because he is below 50% but his numbers are rising and theirs are worse so I doubt it. I think Chris Christie is the one guy on the sidelines who could really make an impact on the race this late in the game. Mitch Daniels might be able to but if the party wanted a moderate Midwesterner Pawlenty would still be in the race. Anyone else who want to get in better have deep pockets to pay for the raise because he or she would be to far behind in funds and organization. No one likes the people running but no one seems to like anyone in politics these days so I am not sure that will change. If Christie throw his hat in watch how fast the press turns from be excited about him running to be excited about tearing him to pieces. He may be to smart to run.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a someone jump in late to run as an independent. With the exception of no chance Ron Paul I can't think of a single person running in either party who has people excited about them. The republican primary has just started so maybe someone will get some momentum and the party will fall in line behind a front runner but I doubt it, the party is to divided between the libertarian fiscal conservative who want nothing to do with a the super religious and social conservatives who demand a litmus test for all candidates and the tea party who are just pissed and they are not really sure what they want. The only thing that unites both sides is they hate Obama more than they hate each other. If someone ran in the middle they might be able to steal the election. I don't really think it will happen and once again we will be left voting for who we dislike the least but if it was going to happen this a year when it could happen since both parties are so weak right now.
