S&P now being investigated for its failure to downgrade mortgage backed securities. Lol. No investigations of fraud or undue influence until two weeks after one of them turns on the empire itself. Shakespearean. The culture of corruption is so deeply entrenched that the criminals who try to come clean to save their own credibility, end up being threatened with destruction.
You want to make your money, you do it when its consistent with the money machine that runs the country. Recommend toxic securities to poor people? no problem. But downgrade the core of the system? you get eliminated.
S&P will pay a huge price for this downgrade. They may be destroyed. This is a good thing since they were in on the corruption to begin with and only downgraded to bring attention to themselves in a so obviously corrupt ratings system. So, buh-bye. Thanks for playing. Anybody with any brains wasn’t listening to you in the first place, and the only people who were, they got their pockets picked. Adios.
Note: I realize the article linked below says that the investigation began before the downgrade, and while that's likely to be technically true, if you believe the downgrade had nothing to do with this you're not paying attention. If they don't downgrade, this doesn't see the light of day.
