The mainstream articles I've read (that is, a couple on CNN, a couple on BBC) implied the suspect had an illegal handgun, and I did see mention of a shot in the police radio. It was a bit of a jumble, but the implication was that the suspect fired on the police officers, missing and hitting the radio. (3 shots fired, I think?)

Did that not happen? It sounds like you're saying the suspect didn't shoot at the police officers. Did the suspect have a gun?


The police have officially confirmed he didn't fire a shot - if I recall correctly one officer fired two shots. One killed the suspect and the other passed through or missed him and hit the police radio. Reports claim that he didn't have the gun out and it was wrapped in a sock as well.
