I giggled a little when I found this story.
Especially upon reading Tesco's rebuttal.

And recall that the original "Hubbard hypothesis" was a $50 bet with Asimov that Hubbard could start a fake religion and convince people it's real. Sadly, Asimov won (oh, BOY did he win.... )
Well I imagine Jedi religion is ever so slightly less evil than scientology...
You just don't know... they have a big complex across the street from UT, with people at tables out on the sidewalk every day offering "free personality and IQ testing" (IMHO, the test consists of: If you respond to their offer, you have neither. ) It's prompted many a discussion of scientology (which I refuse to dignify by capitalizing) among my friends and I, including:
1) Discussion of scientologists essentially blockading Hubbards home to conceal his death for about six months and
2) The habit of leaving rattlesnakes (sans rattle) in the mailboxes of ex-members.
It's a fun group; almost make those Branch-Davidians up and Waco look like good neighbors.
Honorbound and honored to be Bonded to Mahtaliel Sedai

Since there can only be two Sith at any one time, Tesco isn't losing a lot of customers
