You know the drought is getting bad when people start praying a tropical storm hits them

The actual AP report is not why I posted this, it is the responses I find interesting. People in Texas are praying they will get hit by Don. Here in Dallas the news was complaining that it was hitting so far to the south and debating which area deserved getting hit by the storm the most. Maybe we will get lucky an it will get somewhere around Waco and just stall out for a few days spreading little showers over the whole centeral part of the state. We need rain

Tropical Storm Don: When Will it Land in Texas?
By Ravelle Mohammed | Christian Post Contributor
A tropical storm warning has been issued across the Texas coast early Thursday. Tropical Storm Don is violently blasting its way into the central Gulf of Mexico and forecasters are telling those in the path of the storm to stay on alert over the coming days.
Don was about 635 miles east-southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas at 5 a.m. ET, the National Hurricane Center said. This is the fourth named storm of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season.
The National Hurricane Center said, “This general motion with an increase in forward speed is expected through Friday. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours.”
The Center calls Don a small tropical cyclone and if continued on its projected path the storm could hit land along the southeastern coast of Texas at 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
The thousands of oil and gas production platforms in the region are particularly of major concern.
Reuters reports that Shell Oil Co, along with several other offshore energy operators evacuated workers on Wednesday.

violently blasting its way.. Please, this is just a mid-level tropical storm! I would love to have one of these a month during the entire season this year to help recover from the lack of rain over the last few years.

Tom Rairdonwhat 2 year old wrote this press release? Winds are projected to just gust to 55-60 knots at the height of the storm, this is nothing but a chance to get some rain, so come on give us one of these every 3 days for the next month.

Oh, I do hope so. Anything to bust up this high pressure cap that's keeping the heat here and the rain away.
