I would have more sympathy for Joel on this issue if he wasn't the one trying to get some political leverage on this issue and if he wasn't the same person who continued to argue that the shooter in Arizona was a right wing nutter despite the overwhelming facts pointing the other way. If looking for a way to spin the facts so that all the world ills were the personal fault of republicans was not Joel's normal mode of operation then I would say yes it simply the stress of the situation but this really is just typical Joel.

If he had posted about how shocked and horrified he was that a man could kill innocent children to promote his political goals I would have been agreeing with him 100%. Instead we get how shocked and horrified he is that some guest on the Fox News channel suggested that he really wasn't right wing and wouldn't roll over and taken the blame like good little boys and girls. Now is it silly that people are claiming he was a left wing? Of course it is but with the lefts tract record of trying to use any tragedy no matter how unrelated to attack the right and tar them dangerous radicals it is justified to try and make the distinction that this man has nothing to do with the American right.
