Well, today has led to an e-existential crisis. I was always The Voice of Lews Therin at wotmania, but obviously I kept the name only because that's how people knew me and I could access all my old NB messages and such and so changing would complicate things.
Ditto. I realised I didn't want to be Eyeless Myrddraal any more just after I got my first premium account in December 2002, which wasn't the most helpful timing...
Now, with the new site, I needed to change. A lot of us who are less than thrilled with Wheel of Time wanted to change, as well, or we just wanted to pick up names that were not available at Wot (like, for example, "Tom" ).
So...here is a survey:
1. Did you re-register your old SN from wotmania so that no one else could use it?
Yes. I reserved Eyeless Myrddraal so that no-one could impersonate me, but I won't be using it.
2. Are you keeping your SN from wotmania as your primary or one of your primary SNs?
No.
3. If not, what are you thinking of changing to? Are you considering using several SNs?
I have registered Tim and Echobeats (the name I go by everywhere else online). I'll post soon asking people which they think is better.
4. How do you think multiple SNs are best split up - by board, by type of post or just randomly?
Never knew of anyone using certain SNs on certain boards, though I guess it makes sense. Not going in for polynomialism myself, I always thought it was just subject to whim.
5. Aren't you glad we can type "fuck" here without HTML codes?
It wouldn't bother me so much if we couldn't – I never let the language filter stop me. And we have much more room in subject lines here.
Okay, so the last one really had nothing to do with SNs.
