galveston wouldnt need police from houston, they have police on the island.

I guess I just dont get the Norwegian/European way of doing things like cops and guns and every little town and island having their own police force. Here in Ct where I live now, there are state troopers for the whole state and every town has its own police force. The better comparison would be a bombing in Rhode Island and a shooting on Block Island, but Block Island would take care of their own situation not wait for police from the main land to show up. But his isnt really worth discussing any further, whats done is done, nothing will bring back the victims that were killed. But maybe the protocol for future disasters (god forbid) will be different.
I think its amazing that the bomb didnt even kill a dozen people, but he PERSONALLY went and shot 83 kids point blank on an island. I still think it is a damn shame that it took the cops forever and a day to get to the island. the bomb distraction isn't a good enough excuse in my opinion for why they didn't get there for over an hour. But I disagree about the violence thing, It does help peoples causes sometimes, it doesn't solve the situation but it does bring ti to light. 93 dead kids and no everyone is talking and thinking about the so called threat of Islam and immigration into Europe. he got what he wanted and he wants to go to court and speak more on the subject. He will get the platform he wanted to keep spewing his garbage, so in that respect his violent rampage was very successful.
Under NORMAL (i.e. not the aftermath of a bombing and during a shooting rampage) conditions. Googlemaps says it's 38km, but that only takes you to the mainland across from the island, so that doesn't count the boat ride there. How long do you think it would take HPD to get to a shooter on Galveston, particularly in the wake of a bombing at the Galleria, many other suspicious looking packages strewn from Herman Park to Reliant, and no bridge to the island? My wife tells me that ONCE INFORMED OF the shooting they were scrambling to call in military choppers to get out to the island, but barring a transporter room it still takes time. Your expectations here are not reasonable.
It's sick that one person could intentionally kill so many others. And why? Okay, so you don't like immigration into Norway - you have a voice, you can try to change laws or whatever. Okay, so you don't like the largely socialist system that Norway has (and I can personally appreciate that) - so work to change it. But any change must be done peacefully. Don't these people who kill others see that they are no better than the people they claim to be their "enemies"??? This is a universal truth, whether we're talking about this guy, Hamas, al Qaeda, Timothy McVey, or anyone else.
When has killing people ever helped one's argument or position??? The best you can hope for is to kill everyone and go down as a butcher.
