They're close enough to the same that Bush left Perry to mind the store when he went to DC.

Besides being from Texas and being conserative they really don't have much in commmon. I know that isn't what they sold you with the kool-aid but it is BS. I would think that a guy from Texas who pays attention to politics would know better than to spout such BS. Would care to explain how you think they are the same or am I correc that you are just echoing ideas someone else poured into your head? There are valid reasons to not like Perry but only sheep believe it is because he is another Bush.
The main difference is, like I said, Perry hands out corporate welfare and cushy government contracts to EVERYONE, not just oil companies. Apart from that the whole "cut taxes and government because Jesus loves me but hates poor people" schtick is pretty much the same. The similarities are myriad; again, that's why Bush left Perry behind as his point man in TX. He even creates unnecessary new agencies run by friends and campaign donors like Bush (no doubt part of downsizing government). As someone who retired from the state my mom worked for both of them and can cite chapter and verse on Perrys neo-Bush policies ad nauseam. Would YOU care to explain how they're DIFFERENT, because, again, except for Perry giving EVERY industry handouts instead of just oil, I can't see it.

I think Romney is better than Perry, but I won't vote Obama if either is the candidate.

I generally dislike third parties. Why would I want to help one split a future vote?
