I can tell you exactly why a jury didn't find her guilty of perjury, child neglect etc:

She was found innocent. Move on. As I told people on Facebook, if she is guilty and there is such a thing as divine judgement, then she will get what's coming to her.
but I also believe in human intelligence. forget murder...how is it a jury didnt find her guilty of child neglet or child abuse after not reporting her child missing until 30 days after the fact, and in the mean time she is out clubbing, my friends french bulldog went missing for 4 hours on the beach and within 2 hours she started printing flyers and posting them up (thats what a concerned parent would do). Then she lies about a nanny that doesnt exist kidnapping the girl (turned out the woman she named had never even met her or the child). Yeah..sorry..but thats enogh for me...Im not even getting into the physical evidence found by the FBI, it just doesnt seem right...
Because she was charged with murder, a case that was not proven to the jury who acquitted her of that charge. I guess the real lesson here is "If you're not CERTAIN of the murder charge, offer a plea to child neglect and protect your conviction percentage". I can only hope that if I'm ever falsely accused of a crime the prosecution presents so poor a case, and that the talking heads don't send me to the electric chair (this was in FL, after all) because a bunch of people who weren't even at the trial paid a dollar to convict me in a phone poll.

This. There is a reason we do trial by jury not trial by lynch mob. *NM*

The judicial system IS based on the belief it's better to free the guilty than condemn the innocent.

I would have to side with the jury on this one. As much as I think she did it, I could not have

Nope. I didn't think she was guilty of 1st degree murder. Nobody is to blame but the prosecutors...
