And the receptionist is wearing glasses. Somehow I don't think this is good pr.

Perhaps; but there could be any number of reasons for this. Using myself as an example, my eyesight is so poor that laser surgery is not appropriate for me since I require so much corrective work that my risk for negative side-effects is significant.

I am not sure how I feel about laser treatment, and have decided not to explore my feelings on the subject either.

I'd recommend you consult with an opthamologist to explore what the different procedures are and which may or may not be appropriate for you. You wouldn't have to make a decision, but you'd at least be more informed on the topic if/when you consider just what you want to do.

So instead, I'm posting a survey!

1. Do you wear glasses or contacts?

Glasses. I tried contacts for a while a few years ago, and they're fine for a few hours but eventually the contact or my eyes would dry out and it would be a pain.

Should you?

There's no "should" about it: I need to.

2. How bad/good is your eye sight?

Extremely poor. I don't know what particular metrics you're familiar with in Europe, but my right is is -8 diopters and the left is -12.5 or something (0 is normal vision, -20 is legally blind).

3. Would you ever consider getting your eyes lasered?

Nope, for the reason I described above. ;) The last time I looked into corrective procedures, it was recommended I receive lens replacements.

4. Have you had laser surgery? Are you happy with it?

Nope.

5. Would you be able to survive without glasses or contacts?

With my current, uncorrected vision? It's doubtful.

6. If you would get laser surgery, what would your reasons be?

I wouldn't, so... N/A.

One of my main reasons for getting surgery is that my eye sight is rather poor. If I ever get into an emergency situation without my glasses or contacts, I'm unlikely to be doing well.

I hear ya on that.
