Let me just say I'm absolutely amazed that a thread I looked at yesterday with about 8 short replies and what I thought was a pretty bad article now has 80 or so posts. Since the NATO thread had me thinking a bit about my time stationed in Europe, I guess I can weigh in on the Euro vs US women thing. Personally I never noticed all that big a difference, but almost all of my friends did and it more or less matched the stereotype that American girls are bossier, bitchier, more frigid, etc. To each his, her or its own, I suppose, the trait I generally look for above all others is genuine and near constant cheerfulness and such people are generally not control freaks, naggers, bitchy, or frigid regardless of nationality - so I didn't really see this as much first hand, but when 9 out of 10 of your friends extols the virtues of European women and the other guy complains that he misses American girls because they're more assertive I choose to assume they're probably on to something.
As for the whole excessive porn watching thing, I have to say that I find the idea that men might get addicted to porn about as surprising as finding out water is wet, and I daresay many of the apparent addicts may have problems, for some of them the 'problem' might be their choice of partner, stuff like this comes out all the time, call me back in a decade. Sometimes studies say porn causes more rapes and video games turn everyone into homicidal maniacs, sometimes they say porn causes men to lose interest in real sex and video games or the internet chat cause people to lose interest in 'real' games or 'real' friendships, there may be some truth to any or all of that, but I suspect that the effects are exaggerated.
