I'm really weird with dreams. (Truly!) Vivien Send a noteboard - 31/05/2011 10:49:46 PM
And by that I do not mean that I have weird dreams (that wouldn't be weird at all) but that I very rarely dream. Hardly ever. The more accurate assessment would probably be that I rarely remember my dreams. But really, even upon waking, there is usually zero awareness of any kind of dream.

But I do dream sometimes, it's just extremely rare. Because I do dream so rarely, when I do dream I have a tough time figuring out that it's a dream and upon waking I have to figure it that I was dreaming and it's not a real memory. Anyway, it's super rare. However I did dream saturday night and I think it was my first dream for 2011. I make an effort to remember my dreams because they're so rare.

This dream wasn't that pleasant and my dreams usually aren't... It was about a girl I considered a close friend and was determined to stay in touch with after high school. I would have done anything for her. [well not anything, but a lot] Unfortunately she did not seem to value our friendship and we haven't spoken in ~5 years.

Well she was present in my dream. Kind of a college dorm situation, although I've never experienced this. At first we were both ignoring each other but then I was being friendly and she wasn't, she was mad at me for ignoring her earlier. Then later we're on better terms and I'm helping her with something, and then I'm running away to hide something that she stole. Not a good dream! Of course it doesn't make sense- she would never steal anything.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else frequently have very vivid dreams, and write them down if possible? I've often found that some of my coolest ideas or feelings come from dreams I've had, and I dream pretty frequently. Usually, I try to immediately write the dream down, either in a journal or on my phone (I'll either quickly email it to myself, or use the notepad feature) and then flesh it out when I wake up in the morning. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I'll wake up from a great dream just when I need to go to work, and so I'll be able to type the dream right then. More often, I'm jotting it down at three in the morning.

I usually remember my dreams for a long time, and I love hearing about the crazy dreams that other people have. I'm bored and it's Sunday; I'm going to post a couple of replies to this thread of some of the dreams I've journaled, with the dates of the dreams in the subject header. I'm not going to edit them at all (I never do) so they might be pretty basic or may seem stilted. Anyway, if other people want to do the same - cool. If not, feel free to peer into the oddities of my soul and snicker.
