Is there anything in your life that's changed that he's picking up on? Like mentioned above animals can be really sensitive to what is going on in your life.

My peeing cat story:
I was living with my great aunt and had taken a kitten home from the barn. He was under weight, his left eye was ravaged from a herpes virus and he was personable. At six months my aunt insisted that he be declawed and neutered. So we waited to do it all at once. He had used the litter box very well up to this point and was a champ of a cat. Bandit came home used the litter as he was still out of it and learning to deal with his paws for the first week or so. When he went back to feeling better he started peeing on stuff. Sure, he would still use the box. But if he wanted attention and I was running in and out of the house, he would sit on the couch look me in the eye and pee. And sometimes just for the hell of it, too.

Your cat could always come live at my house. We have three other cats who are all indoor/outdoor and only one uses the litterbox that is outside. There is a dog who the cats chase around. And pullets! So we'll have fresh eggs in the fall.

:)

Good Luck though. If you have to find him a home, try a farm. Or look for someone who would take a cat with that problem.
