I'll be working at an Alice in Wonderland themed tea shop/restaurant on the upper East Side of the city. So happy ...
I mean, it sounds silly but bussing in NYC is a HUGE step up from working at a cafe or fast food restaurant (my most previous jobs in the food industry). I have actual restaurant experience now, and my pay could potentially double (the managers said 15-20$ an hour on average with tips ... seems optimistic ... I'll know 6pm tomorrow).
That being said, it is hard work, I have learned to carry up to 16 large glass goblets, with tea cups placed on top, or dishes, whatever is called for. Or 4 full tea pots with scalding hot tea ... those suck. I hate the tea pots ... so easy to spill! also learned to carry 5 dinner plates at once with all the food on them. (we do the food running too) ... New job, just in time for summer though

If he brings out food and clears I'd expect him to get some of the tip. *NM*

I thought "bussing in NY" referred to having to rely on public transportation. *NM*
